Shipping & Delivery

Where we deliver

We ship across mainland UK: England, Scotland and Wales.

We are not currently able to ship to customers in the EU. Since Brexit, wine and spirits are excluded from the Import One-Stop Shop scheme, which means every consumer parcel needs its own customs declaration and excise settled at the destination country's rate. We would rather not do it than do it badly. If you are an EU customer, get in touch and we will let you know when that changes.

We do not currently deliver to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands or BFPO addresses, and those are not accepted at checkout. Some Scottish Highland and island postcodes may take longer than the estimate below. If you are unsure, please ask us before ordering.

How much you have to buy

We sell by the case: 6 bottles minimum, counted across the whole basket. They can all be different, so 6 separate wines at one bottle each is a case. A single bottle posted across the country costs nearly as much to send as six and is the one most likely to arrive broken, which is why wine is sold this way.

Cost and timing

  • Standard delivery, £9.99. Two to three working days.
  • Expedited delivery, £13.99. Next working day on orders placed before noon.

Orders are picked from a bonded warehouse, so they leave on working days only. Delivery times are estimates and start from dispatch, not from when you place the order.

Someone aged 18 or over must be home

It is illegal for us to deliver alcohol to anyone under 18. Our courier will ask for ID if the person receiving the parcel looks under 25: we operate Challenge 25, the same scheme used in shops.

Acceptable ID: a passport, a photocard driving licence, or a PASS-accredited card. If nobody suitable is available, the parcel goes back to the depot and the courier will leave a card. We cannot leave alcohol in a safe place, with a neighbour, or in a porch.

If a parcel is returned to us because nobody could receive it, we will refund the order less the delivery cost.

Breakages

Bottles are packed in moulded protective shippers designed for wine. If something arrives broken, photograph it before you clear up and contact us: we will replace it or refund it.

Returns

You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind, and separate rights if a wine is faulty. See Returns and Refunds for how that works.
