Terms & Conditions

These are the terms you buy under. They sit alongside your legal rights rather than replacing them, and nothing here takes away a right you have as a consumer.

1. Who we are

Land of Wine is a trading name of Georgian Wine Guild Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 11645765. Our address is 122 Boundary Road, London NW8 0RH. VAT registration number GB 312766509. We are registered under the Alcohol Wholesaler Registration Scheme, AWRS number XPAW000 0011 2259.

You can reach us at sales@landofwine.uk.

2. You must be 18 or over

It is an offence for anyone under 18 to buy alcohol, and for anyone to buy it on their behalf. By ordering you confirm you are 18 or over and that the person receiving the delivery will be too.

We operate Challenge 25. Our courier will ask for ID if the person accepting the parcel looks under 25, and will not hand it over without it. We may refuse or cancel any order where we are not satisfied about age, and we will refund you if we do.

3. Placing an order

We sell wine by the case. The minimum order is 6 bottles in total, and they can all be different: 6 separate wines at one bottle each meets it just as well as 6 of the same. Checkout opens once there are 6 in your basket.

Adding wine to your basket is not a contract. Your order is an offer to buy, and the contract is formed when we email you to say it has been dispatched. If we cannot fulfil an order we will tell you and refund you in full.

We may limit quantities on scarce bottles, and we may decline an order.

4. Prices, duty and VAT

Prices are in pounds sterling and include UK excise duty and VAT at the prevailing rate. Delivery is charged separately and shown before you pay. See Shipping and Delivery.

We take care over prices, but if something is listed at an obviously wrong price we are not obliged to sell at it. We will contact you and you can confirm at the right price or cancel.

5. Vintages and labels

Wine is an agricultural product and vintages sell through. Where a vintage has changed we will usually tell you on the product page, and photographs and label designs are a guide rather than a guarantee. Alcohol strength can vary slightly between vintages of the same wine.

6. Payment

We take payment when you order, through Shopify Payments and the other providers shown at checkout. We do not see or store your full card details.

7. Delivery

See Shipping and Delivery for where we ship, what it costs and how long it takes. Risk in the wine passes to you on delivery.

8. Cancellation, returns and faults

You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind, and 30 days to reject a faulty bottle. See Returns and Refunds, which forms part of these terms.

9. Trade customers

Sales to businesses are made on trade terms and the consumer rights described above do not apply to them. See Trade Enquiries.

10. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

11. Drink responsibly

The UK Chief Medical Officers advise no more than 14 units a week, spread over three days or more. There is good guidance at drinkaware.co.uk.

12. Events outside our control

We are not liable for delay or failure caused by something outside our reasonable control, including courier failure, customs, extreme weather and supply interruption. If it goes on a long time you can cancel and we will refund you.

13. Your personal information

We handle it as described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes

We may change these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it.

15. Complaints and governing law

Tell us first, at sales@landofwine.uk, and we will try to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, though if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring proceedings there.
